Bad Blogger

I know it has been awhile since I blogged, bad me. Fortunately I believe I only have one or two readers so it's really no big deal. LOL. We had a great Christmas..Birthday(mine) and New Years. All were spent with family and great friends. Then it happened, I fell into a funk, well more than a funk and it was mostly money related. 2008 was a baad year, I really was not sorry to see it go since the new year held great promise of a "bonus" for hubby. Now being the Type A and control freak that I am (trust me, I am working on that) waiting or "limbo" as I like to call it was almost more than I could take. I won't dull you with all my whining and how my faith was tested....I know there was a lesson to be learned but man it is so hard when you are in the midst of it. The bonus came 7 days into the new year, one for which I am truly truly grateful for, when so many people are losing their jobs and struggling I know how lucky we are. The money will pay some bills but most of it will be saved since hubby is in the building business, we aren't sure what the future holds.

The kids have snow day today for which they are very thankful for..it's cold -15 brrr. We have a good 6 inches of snow and it is so pretty. It's a good day to stay in and get some projects started along with some laundry.

Alot of the blogs I read are doing one word for the year. You pick one word that you will strive to implement into everyday. My word is "Enough". That is all I pray for everyday....enough patience, enough love, understanding, compassion. You get the idea. I think it is a cool idea...what's your word?

I know this post is all over the place, I guess that is what happens when you don't blog much. I would like to see this place pick up a little and it is on my list of things to work on.

Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Saving Time...NOT!

So I was making my monthly run to GFS (Gordon Food Services) and saw that they had pre-cut out sugar cookies. My mom brain kicked in and I thought what a great idea. Not only save time but have much less mess to deal with. I quickly snatched them up and checked out, rather proud of myself for finding such a "great idea". Imagine my surprise when I get home and tell my kids about them as we settle down for a nice dinner and I am met with groans and total disgust.
I was accused of ruining a tradition, to "what were you thinking?"...."how could you do that or even think that was a great idea?" So now I am stuck with this box of cookies that no one wants any part of. So what will I do? You guessed it...I will make sugar cookies and my kids will cut them out and I will bake them while they make a HUGE mess. I will do it with a smile on my face while they bicker and pick and throw dough at each other. After all you never mess with traditions no matter how easier it would make your life.

Swagbucks

So there is a new search engine out there that rewards you for using it and referring friends. I am often leary of these but this one has been very user friendly. Installation of the toolbar was quick and easy, the great thing for me, no spam.
Since I am terrible at explaining things, here is the link. Try it..I think you just might like it.

Blah

Anyone else have a case of the blahs? Ugh, I hate them, I haven't had a case for awhile so I really can't complain. Not sure what brought them on...I have a good start on Christmas shopping, my house is decorated and I have started my baking. Money for the most part is okay, although for me being the worrier that I am, I always worry about it.
I believe what I really need is a job, outside the house, with other grown ups were I can go everyday. One of my resolutions for next year is to really pound the pavement. Being out of the workforce for so long is a huge obstacle, one which I must overcome. I need to check my guilt at the door and move forward. I really believe it's time.
I better start preparing my family for it now, they are rather spoiled in the sense of me always being there, whenever for whatever. The extra money would be so nice and elevate a lot of my stress.
Sorry for the rambling post but sometimes you just need to get stuff off your mind and onto your blog. LOL

Wow, That was Fast

Another weekend gone. I don't know about you but the weekends here seem to fly. We didn't really do anything exciting, Friday night J had his first basketball game..he did great. He had 15 points, so proud.
Then Saturday is started snowing, J had practice...he left after my repeated harping to be careful and drive slow since the roads were covered with a light fluffy snow. You know the kind that makes the roads very icy. So he wasn't gone 20 seconds and the phone rings and sure enough he took out a mailbox down the street. Ughhh, I swear I hate this whole driving thing, I am a worrier and this is almost more than I can handle. LOL
So when practice was over me, J, K and her friend (who lives here every weekend)LOL went out bought a new mailbox and post, then hit Wal-Mart and the mall to pick up a few gifts since I had coupons that I had to use or lose. We had a great time and came home on horrible roads to a nice snow fall. Hubby got out the sleds and the next 2 hours were spent outside sledding. We all had a great time came in and had the neighbors over for some hot chocolate and coffee with Baileys. YUM!!
Before J went sledding I told him to get in the car we were going to practice driving. The roads were really bad and very icy. I told him if he can drive in our sub-division on bad roads he can drive in town on clear roads. So out we went and he did really well. I do believe it helped his confidence. Then we went to the clubhouse parking lot and we did donuts. Sorry, he begged and I have to admit it was really fun.
Then today hubby put the outside lights up ,I did laundry and a little this n that. The kids went sledding again and later in the afternoon hubby and J went and put up the new mailbox.
There ya go!
How was yours?

Big Day

So Monday was K's birthday and she turned 14. She has been asking to get her belly button pierced for 2 years now. Her dad and brother were not thrilled about it, me..I really didn't care. See, this is my sprited child....she is strong, independent and strong willed, I realize that I have much bigger battles to fight with her. So looking at the big picture this was nothing. I told her no problem and we set the appointment up. Her bestfriend even got hers done with her. Now, I know some of you are thinking "no way, will I ever let my daughter get that done, especially at that age". LOL Don't say that, don't even think it, because trust me you will end up doing it
I am a big "pick your battles" mom.
So below are the pics....enjoy

Getting marked.

Here we go.

Here We Go

I am finally stepping into the blogging world, or maybe I should say I am just dipping my toes in. Testing the waters...to see where this will take me. I guess you could say that I love blogging, that is reading other peoples blogs. The main reason I am doing this is so I can respond and not seem like some crazy stalker. Trust me when I say that I read ALOT of blogs. It is so amazing that you can come to feel like you know these people and I just feel weird that they don't know I exist, yet I know so much about them. It feels wrong so I am joining in, so I no longer have to feel like some stalker weirdo.

WHERE:
I mostly surf decorating and frugal blogs..I would like to take this time to thank so many of you for all your wonderful ideas and projects that you have shared and I have copied.

WHO:
I guess we should start with introductions... there is of course moi...Kim, my dear hubby who I have been married to for 23 years. We were high school sweethearts and got married at the young age of 20. We have four children J..who is our first born son who is 16, K..our first daughter who just turned 14, M..our second daughter who is 10 and B..who is our baby boy and is 4. Throw in 2 dogs and a cat and there ya go, you have our family.

WHAT:
Hubby is in the construction field and I have been a SAHM for the past 14 years. I would love to get back into the working world and I sort kinda am, long story and worthy of its own post. Times are tough, things are tight, and my youngest will be in school next year, so the time is coming.

WHY:
As for the name of my blog, it is an annoying habit that I developed years ago and I say it ALL the time. See above. LOL

I hope you stick around and you can get to know me like I know so many of you. It's the least I can do.

There ya go!
